I've stood my whole weight in the centre of the tube both before and after the repair. It hasnt budged at all.
And what's wrong with weld filler? It's used on car panels all the time. I just needed to know if there was a particular reason not to on a steel bike which, if it's not heats...
I've already started another thread with this question, but just in case anyone who's already helped me can answer - is 653 definitely not heat tempered? The tube has been repaired and I've had a friend offer to fill any small indents remaining with weld and then powdercoat it (including baking...
So I have a 653 frame which I've just had repaired with very minor filler work by atlantic boulevard. I now need to look into painting it. I've had a good price quoted for powdercoating through a friend, which would require sandblasting first. The sandblasting would more than likely destroy...

Thanks

Yes that's definitely what I want; something to occupy my time and I knew I wanted to buy something with a bit of work on it. But I'm just leaving a life as a student so at the moment money is a bit tight. I might wait a few months of working and then invest in a new top tube.
Does no one...
