Hi, just to correct you, the bearing you have (HS103) has a 45 degree chamfer so you need a 31(ish) x 42mm 45deg crown race. Good luck!

Yeah pretty much however there will be a lot more to it than that. The shape of the cuts, the wall thickness, the material itself and the stresses going through it are all contributing factors that may or may not be the root cause.
