I've got this exact same XT groupset on my Scott Endorphin 1998, and I'm replacing the forks. So I need to also replace the front V-brake for a disk brake, and so need to ditch the STI shifter / brake lever too. Everything still works perfectly. If anyone's interested in the XT front-brake and...
