Another newbie playing the "Name my Frame" game.

Cool In my search to find stuff out about my Henry Burton frame i found this http://www.velofilie.nl/frameparts.htm And found a pic of some frame lugs that look almost identical to ones on my frame but they say those lugs are usually found on Gazelle and Champion Modial frames so go figure...

Another newbie playing the "Name my Frame" game.

Interestingly if you do a web search and put in the words (RGF stamped on bike frame) there is quite a bit of stuff that turns up on it looks like it may be french or at least the BB could be tho don't quote me on that tho. cheers AL

Picked up what looks like a very nice Henry Burton

OK i got an Email back from Burtons today John has looked at the pics ive sent. He is of the opinion that this i not a Henry built frame and they don't have records that date back far enough so are not able to check weather it is or who supplied it (shame) so I'm none the wiser it could be from...

Picked up what looks like a very nice Henry Burton

MMM i don't think it'll be from the 60's as the other guy that had his frame dated to 74 his frame number was 2013 and mine is 4299 which would put it a lot later also it has top tube braze on brake cable guides which would put it into the 80's. Its the wheel size that put a spanner in the works...

Picked up what looks like a very nice Henry Burton

Well Richard was telling me that Henry liked to do different things with the lugs so no two Henry built bikes should have the same lug work also with the seat post being 26.4. This was another thing Henry used to do for customers some 531 tubing was 27.2 at one end and 26.4 at the other so you...

How do you finish a frame of unknown origin?

Yes just best to go with the flow id have some cool decals with my name on infact I'm trying to get some Reynolds type stickers made up but worded something like Definitely NOT made of 531 with Butthead tubing just for a larf. AL
