From a wrecked Peugeot to a refurbed Richards..

Good advice, I actually managed to scoop another pair of these sti’s off eBay yesterday afternoon. They were listed as parts/not working and described as ‘not ratcheting’ - I’m hoping I can make one good one out of the parts I have. In the meantime I might strip down some of the spare shifter...

From a wrecked Peugeot to a refurbed Richards..

Thanks so much for posting up that link @Jonny69, it inspired me to get the brifters stripped and investigate. They really aren’t too bad when you get in to them, both were hella gunked up with old grease but the left hand one had a broken pawl: To be fair that one was the worst cosmetically...

From a wrecked Peugeot to a refurbed Richards..

Sadly the frame is way beyond repair, it’s dented on the down tube and seat stay and the rear stays are bowed too. It’s also very rusty, very rusty. I managed to remove the forks despite a seized stem bolt by carefully sacrificing the stem. I think the forks are ok if anyone needs them? 👍

From a wrecked Peugeot to a refurbed Richards..

This will be a thread for the rebuild of my 1982 Alan Richards which has a very spangle-y paint job. I’ve built the bike up in a few different ways since I picked up the f+f awhile back. It’s currently sat in a box in the loft awaiting a suitable donor.. Cue this (sorry looking) Peugeot which I...

    Karma Kona Equilibrium tyre x1

Hi all, this came on a ‘93 Hahanna which I bought and has lasted pretty well for 30yrs! Any good to anyone? It’s about 50% worn but still pretty usable. I’ve seen one split near the logo on the tread (above the ‘m’ - shaped like a y) but it doesn’t go all the way through. See pic: It’ll fold so...

‘90 not ‘90 Kona Lava Dome.

There’s bound to be a few of you who are aware of this frame, and I have to start by saying this wasn’t my idea. The credit must go to @Spanky22b - a genius idea which has been finished to a fantastic standard. A 1993 Lava Dome which has been powder coated/stickered and splattered in the style...

    1989 Muddy Fox Pathfinder

I had one exactly like this - is the rear wheel disc purple on one side and green on the other? Honestly these are heavy and not that exciting to ride but they look epic - the paint job on its own is stunning. Looks like a good project for you, I’m interested to see how it turns out, nice work...

    Tidy Explosif Chelmsford

Stands to reason, a guy who can’t write his own listing can’t use a tape measure either.. 😜 He wasn’t particularly polite when I asked him to confirm..
