I’m 5’10” - i’m going to look like a kid who borrowed his dad’s bike on this! It should be ok - the seat tube is slightly longer than my Dawes but the top tube is shorter, I reckon as long as the stem isn’t too long it should fit ok.
I agree, if you hear of any - let me know. Needs to be 21.1mm. I have a nice Nitto golf club stem and matching bars but in 22.2mm - shame they won’t fit this frameset!
So this arrived today:
I saw it on eBay and the bi-plane forks sold me on it immediately! It’s a big’un at 22” - the head tube is 7.5”, I’m hoping it fits me, I have a Dawes Ranger in 22” which I love so hopefully I’ll be alright.
My recent interest in all things 80’s atb has left me with quite...
That’s nice! Looks super clean, how do you find the standard canti brakes? Mine were shockingly poor!
I did a few more bits to mine. The bars are motorcycle bars I found left out for the scrap man when working in London one day. I also cut and welded the stem to give it a bit more rise, much...
Cranks are 170 and near mint, components I would class as good - would benefit from further cleaning + polishing.
Don’t think I’ll use these so offered for sale - £80 +post to uk only.
Thanks
Offering these as a pair:
Nitto 22.2mm golf club stem with drilling for canti brakes & cr-mo riser bars (710mm).
Both in nice condition, only thing to mention is light pitting to the chrome finish on the bars as shown in the last pic.
Perfect for an 80’s atb/klunker.

I picked this up the other evening, another local and cheap fixer upper. It’s nothing particularly special in terms of spec but I like a 90’s steel framed mtb and the colour fade on this looks really nice.
I got it all stripped down with no issues and cleaned up the frame a bit to check the...
I know, it was sat on my workbench for months - cheers for steering me in the right direction. My friend helped me make up another spacer and now it’s all sorted - I’ll get a wheel built up and actually use it!
Thanks! I normally put the chain in a zip-loc bag with a load of wd40 and then clean with a microfibre cloth. If it needs it afterwards a quick brush with a brass wire brush. 👍
