His reason for throwing it was because all the chrome was pitted. I thought what a stupid reason, anyway, tin foil dipped in water and rubbed on the chrome with some toothpaste to polish it afterwards does the trick 😀 less than £2 fix

I totally agree, the chap was about to throw it in the skip and I said to him please do not do that, you should get a criminal record for that!! 😂 it’s incredible what some people will just chuck away, makes me quite sad to think about!

Thank you mate and it is cotter pins, real blast from the past!! It is 1991, I checked the frame number. I believe one of the last years to use cotter pins if I’m not mistaken
