whatever floats your boat! I think it's impossible to pin down exact definitions of "vintage", "classic" & "retro". I'm involved in the classic car scene as well having an interest in old bikes. The "classic " argument has raged for decades with owners of triumph dolomites and ford cortinas...

Hi folks, I'm struggling to source replacement period brake blocks for the athena calipers on my Raleigh Dynatech 701. I bought some German items from ebay but they don't fit the best. Does anybody know of a supplier or suitable replacement that will fit my calipers. Any help much appreciated.

olagnero update Well, took delivery of my ebaytatstic olagnero through the week and was a little dissapointed with the condition but that's what happens when you buy something unseen on a whim. It's a nice bike that's just not been looked after. Everything is easily sorted except the frame...

I agree, the spec is nothing special but I'm intrigued now and want to know more.

Mine looks similar, red frame made with columbus aelle tubing and shimano groupset. It's definatley italian but don't know anything else, I'd never heard of them before now.

I'm looking for s set of shimano 600 6 speed downtube shifters. I need a band-on set but can only seem to find braze-on sets. Can the braze-on shifters be fitted to a 600 shifter band? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Thanks Ed, having a look on the velobase page, it seems they did exist, somewhere. the part number is sl-6208. If you could find a set then I'd be over the moon.
