    1988 Fisher Montare XT

Thanks, your bike was made between the 2nd and 3rd week of April in 1988. It's missing a letter in the front, all other bikes I've seen have a K which may indicate the factory, from 1984 to 1987 the bikes were made by Toyo in Japan. It is still possible your bike was made by Toyo but Toyo use...

Information on 1987 Gary Fisher bikes...catalog

I have what I believe is an early 1987 Fisher MountainBikes Montare. Can someone share a catalog scan or concrete information on its year. The frame was built by Toyo in May of 1986. I suspect the components are 1987 spec'd but I have never seen a 1987 Catalog to confirm this. Two components I...

    1988 Fisher Montare XT

Ok... so I went and bought one just to get your measurement ;). Mine is a 17" frame and it measures about 15.5" center of axle to base of crown race. I compared this to other Tange forks I have and these were as shown in attached pictures. I also measured my daughters 1987 Cannondale (15" frame)...

I think these are very standard, just need one for a 26" not a 24" or a 700"

    1988 Fisher Montare XT

Hi, as long as you know it is an '88 (I think '89 changed to evolution fork steerer tube of 1 1/4"), any 26" and 1" Tange Fork or similar, longer than your steerer and with a 1.5" to 2" rake will work. Just decide if you wan a more stable or shorter geometry. For '88 maybe also '87, Fisher used...

    Retro MTB hierarchy

Re: Hi there, Several factors drive early MTB prices. 1. Rarity- As stated, Boutique (specially pre-1982) bike command top prices, try to find/buy one of the first 9 Breezers 2. Brand- some brands would have more followers than others 3. Hierarchy- top models with the best tubing, geometry...

1980's Marin Models, Information, and ID-guide

Retrobikers, This is a guide to help you identify the frames of Marin MTB from 1986 to 1989. Thanks for the contributions and comments of hamster, gtturbo, Antstark, and doctor-bond. I/m missing the highlighted entries. I can’t comment on components or serials since I had no access to enough...
