Thanks for that. I'll have a go at the weekend. The reason I say long travel is that they already had a long travel kit fitted by the shop I bought them from (Bromley Bike co/Evolution Imports) As I said in my thread these are great forks and look right on my 'Dale. I'll take a picture of them...

I'm in the process of restoring a Cannondale Beast Of The East full XT mountain bike. All was going well until it came to the forks. I've tried all my local repair shops and the answers always the same " you might as well throw them away and get new ones ". These were great forks and look right...
