    stronglight chainset

Re: That's a Stronglight 99 chainset, from 1970-77, which takes 86 mm BCD chainrings Note that the extractor threads on it are 23.35x1mm. A normal 22mm extractor won't fit. Please can you tell me if these threads are in good condition? Are you sure the arm lengths are 150mm? As far as I...

    WTB: Interesting 50's/60's 23" (58cm) Road/Path frame

Re: Thanks jm. At the moment, it looks like I'll be taking on oaklec's Hobbs of the Barbican frame, but I'll let you know if that doesn't work out for any reason.

    WTB: Interesting 50's/60's 23" (58cm) Road/Path frame

Re: Thanks - that does look lovely. The lugs are Nervex Serie Legere Model 45/159. I'm afraid that at 24in, it's just a little bit too big for me though. Whilst I do like a large frame, I'm only 5'11". Sorry.

    WTB: Interesting 50's/60's 23" (58cm) Road/Path frame

As per title. I did a look out a couple of months ago, but never got anywhere, as the leads I had disappeared. I'm after a vintage lightweight frame/forks, or full bike that I can use for fixed gear use. Ideally after something with track ends, but could also consider a road bike, if there...

    Mid 70's FW Evans Track/Path

Re: Thanks Terry. Going by the 531 sticker (assuming it's the correct one), it's a 'TI Reynolds' one, which didn't come in until 1977, so actually 1975 seems too early. With Evans' move to The Cut in 1977, and the headbadge having the old address, the only year that it could have been made is...

    Mid 70's FW Evans Track/Path

I've just finished building this up in fixed gear guise for daily commuting duties, having bought the frame from Hilary Stone: Looking around the internet, I haven't been able to find any other FW Evans track or path bikes. The head decal showing the address to be in Kennington...

Viscount Aerospace Frame, 27" Conti Tyres and other parts

I've recently got a new Orbit Gold Medal touring bike, and can't keep 2. I'm therefore retiring my mid 70's Trusty Viscount Aerospace Pro: Since I'm using the bits from this on my new bike, I'm selling the frame, forks, wheels and tyres only for the moment. The frame has been resprayed in a...

    orbit gold medal 531

This bike is now mine - thanks bulldog! I've now fitted a Brooks saddle, mudguards, front and rear racks and bottle cage from my previous bike, and given it a good going through: Next step is to replace the 6 speed freewheel with a 7 speed one, so I can fit my 7 speed bar end shifters. I'll...

    Bulldog feedback

Bought an Orbit Gold Medal Touring bike from Bulldog, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. Bike was very well packaged, and as described. He kept me well informed with packaging/posting progress during the purchase, which made for a very pleasant transaction. Many thanks!
