    Screw on freehubs

I'm seeing Shimano Tourney 14t freewheels for sale new, in a couple ranges. The 11t freewheel thing is to support the higher speeds Ebikes go. I swap out my cassette and worn chain on the Ebike as a pair. Cost of doing business. Maybe the hubmotor guys are swapping them out too just like I do...

    Screw on freehubs

Grin Technology in Canada are the hubmotor experts. You might ask them or in in their forum if there are any good multispeed freewheels out there. They're engineers, not just parts vendors. They would certainly have relevant experience with these things. Maybe they just use Shimano 13t stuff?

    Screw on freehubs

It's definitely not on my bikes. I don't have any freewheel hub bikes. I'm only on the mid drive Ebike forums so no feedback on those things there. I found some White ENO Ebike freewheels at 1/2 price on Ebay and went with one of those for my front freewheel project. Completely different...

    Screw on freehubs

Due to the hubmotor Ebikes using freewheels there are vendors supplying 7, 8,9 ,and even 10s parts. The play in the bearings makes indexing over 8s questionable to me. The manufacturers seem to be coming out of the BMX market space where freewheels are still used. DNP is a brand. I took some...

    Wanted Wanted Sun rim

Sun Rhynolites in 26"x36h seem to always be available in the US. https://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=43044 Maybe some of the tandem or touring bike builders have them over there?

    Latex inner tubes updated

I don't need to check pressure on these any more often than my regular bike. I always need to add some more air. But my gauge is in the pump, so not much effort required. Especially the hand held battery powered compressor. 4psi/day loss, the same as the toxic foaming Synthetic Latex sealant I...

My rims are 20yo Mavic Crossrides. The original version with eyelets and 24 bladed spokes. The modern RH Extralight tires are so thin that tubeless is very difficult with them. TBH I'm not sure how much advantage there would be to these tubes with older stiff tires. Maybe it would add something...

    Latex inner tubes updated

After a couple rides the air retention n the rear tire improved quite a bit. The front one did also after few more days.. I no longer need to overinflate for air loss. 36psi goes down to 28psi over 2 days. So I can work around the 33psi sweet spot for these tires. So there are a couple Glycol...

No problems with the rear tube, so I did the front also. This got rid of the silly Presta valve. So Rh Extralight slicks, and Latex tubes, not just for the weight savings but for much faster rolling. The Glycol sealant is hopefully going to provide the reliability that sealed tubes have been...

The Airlock sealant is not bad to work with. It's very thick so a hard push on plunger of the injector tool was required. But since the sealant itself doesn't dry there was no rush to clean out the tool. I could take my time and mount the tire and the sealant still washed out with warm water...

If you want to try the hack I would use the Specialized 2bliss sealant. It's rated for tubeless use, and Latex tubes. It's one of the Glycol sealants, so stays in the tire indefinitely. It doesn't seem to be in the supply chain yet, but it can be ordered.

I haven't had good results with Latex tubes and Latex sealants. Maybe if you set it up for each race it would last long enough. But that's the part of the racing game that doesn't interest me. Tubeless lets you go below 30psi. But the plush RH tires ride just fine and roll fastest at 33psi, so...

The 24 hour pressure drop was from 42psi to 31psi. This is pretty much the most efficient rolling resistance range according to RH. Not great, but certainly useable for a day or 2 of riding. I never did a bare Latex tube install, so IDK what's normal there on a large low pressure tube. I used...

So the Airlock sealant is isnstalled. I went with 3 oz. dose. They say it coats the inside of the tube to prevent leaking down. I injected it into the new tube, and coated The whole inside. They also say it doesn't "puddle". I found that after a month the Latex tube was sticking to the inside...

OK I guess i should clarify why I'm interested in doing this project. There are 2 things about the Rene Herse Extralight tires. Light weight is of course a given, and simple enough to understand and measure. TPU tubes can be used if that is the only goal. I have one in the front tire that's...
