    Ah. I see. Possibly happened before he acquired the bike second hand in the 50's! I'll get some more photos. Do you have an sense of the value? Weighing up whether its worth trying to sell or not. Thanks for all your help

    Hi Wings. Fairly certain they are the original forks. My dad had someone do a bit of "upgrade" work on it a while back (30+ yrs) which I'm fairly certain included adding on various brazing for modern fittings. I did check the bottom bracket but nothing there.

    Got some more photos :) Also found another bike! Re. the white bike above, the serial number on the fork is 6246. From what I can see that dates it around 1948 but still no idea of type and value. And help much appreciated

    Hi all Would someone be able to help me ID this bike I'm intending on selling for my dad? Unfortunately I only have a photo of the headtube but it seems to be quite a rare pattern. I found this ad online that seems similar but I believe the one I have has always had gears...
