    S-Works Steel project

Man.... these are great frames. The tange fork is good and i have one but the specialized rigid fork is a bit better and it clears a bigger tire. The new paint makes me forget about the fork and enjoy the bike. I would go w/ another stem because this one is said to be too flexy.

What's the late 90s steel frame of choice?

Late 90s you could still buy handmade by cyclists in the usa w high end steel frames. I am not saying its better than high end taiwan made but it sure was a vibe to call Ibis and buy direct or chose the color scheme from IF .

Bianchi Martini Racing Titanio Team 1997

Genius. Its been around and used on road bikes. Flexy if you are mashing the pedals, sprinting or descending rough terrain.

    Early Bontrager Race Lite

Early Bontrager race lites are not corrected for the fork i saw in pictures. Problem is not even taste: it will not handle well. If you want a hardtail w/100mm of suspension dont build an early 90s classic frame. That is a very small frame, suited for 1m 65cm at max.

JimboG’s 1991 Team fat chance Yo Eddy - Grello fade

I would place a shorter stem and slide the saddle back. It will give much better handling.

    1993 Condor Cadenza

The fastback seatstays... fillet brazed fork.. everything on this frame is ultra high end. Love the old geometry shimano brakes.

How do you build your vintage frames?

The other day i was watching on youtube an early Bontrager race light build. The shop was lovely and i could feel the love from the owner/ mechanic for the frame. The list of parts he chose for the build had great high end parts like Ringle hubs and Ritchey cranks but other than the salsa...

    Ibis Mojo 95 Build Thread

These pics are making me miss my Mojo. Its in another continent and i am riding my fat chance wicked which isnt bad but the mojo is a better bike.

On another note, lower the brake cable straddle: low profile cantis need a low cable straddle to perform well.

    Ibis Mojo 95 Build Thread

Check the bb height against Ibis specs. It's all about that number. 420 is ok. I would look for 430 but 420 could be fine. Stem is too short. They used 120/135/150 mm. A 71 degr. head angle w that short stem will make the front too nervous. A longer stem will calm things down.

I always look at the BB drop when i think fork length. If there isnt any bb drop i will try a shorter fork.
