    Are these Cook Bros cranks?

Ace, thank you @gtturbo - it's given me some info to investigate. From a bit of searching, it looks like the Grafton Speed Sticks had a more rounded back behind the pedal threads, whereas the Toplines have that flattened shape. Graftons also look like they have a bolt-on spider, whereas the...

    Are these Cook Bros cranks?

They look quite like Cook Bros, but they're fluted down the sides, not on the back. I've had them for absolutely ages, they came on an old Marin Team Titanium I bought that had had lots of stuff upgraded on it. They're beautiful, but the non-drive side crank cracked so I removed them. I'm...

90s titanium 650c TT bike with newer kit.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304416087865 Full disclosure: this is my bike. It's lovely but I don't have enough excuses to ride it and I have too many bikes already. Original thread here: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/what-the-chuff-have-i-bought.222523/

    Orange Owners..... 1" Steerer/Fork options.....

I've got a C16R and managed to find a pair of Independent Fabrications forks that look a lot like the original (E16?) forks. They've got a threadless 1" steerer, which is relatively uncommon.

Is there anyone that can service PowerTap hubs on here?

Agh - that's the bit I have no experience of, sorry. I'd imagine it requires a couple of specialist tools to remove and refit, and probably the right kind of epoxy, followed by specialist calibration equipment, which is probably why they charge so much for it. The article I took the axle magnet...

Is there anyone that can service PowerTap hubs on here?

If you're getting iffy readings, it may well be that the torque sensors are on the blink - that's the bit that _can_ be expensive to remove and replace. The hub basically measures two things: the torque between the freehub body and the hub body, and the number of RPM the hub is doing. The...

Is there anyone that can service PowerTap hubs on here?

I run Rat Race Cycles in Nunhead, London SE15 and we've serviced plenty of PowerTap hubs - HOWEVER we're definitely not an authorised service centre. That is to say, if it's the electronics / torque tube side of the hub that's problematic, it usually works out more economical to replace the hub...

    Frame Builders

There are loads! Have a look at the exhibitor lists on any of the last few years at bespoked.cc: Saffron, Feather, Beaumont, Quirk, Shand, August, Sturdy, and that's just off the top of my head... Curtis and Ted James are still building amazing mountain bikes, Lee Cooper is still building...

Can anyone help me indentify these hubs?

A little more digging, both on Google and through my memory, makes me think they were on the Bontrager Race X Lite wheelset, among others: also https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/compo ... te-review/ ...the stripes were often on the other side of the hub from his name, IIRC.

Can anyone help me indentify these hubs?

Those stripes are Bontrager, I think, from the levels of wheels that tended to be fitted to mid-range alloy Trek road bikes (like a 1.7) around ten years ago.

What are the nicest 10-speed levers?

The rebuildability of Campag 10-speed is one of the things that made me think it was worth the slight faff of fitting the Shiftmate. And being able to shift several gears in one go in both directions...

What are the nicest 10-speed levers?

Just interested in people's opinions, really. Bit of a long story, but basically my wife's road bike is 10-speed, my road bike that sits on the turbo trainer is 10-speed and we fitted 10-speed shifter and cassette to my son's Islabike so he can play on Zwift during lockdown too, so I'm keeping...
