    Orange Frame?

Hi Carge Thank you Carge, I was hoping the chap at Orange might have missed something and your frame number might have been similar to mine, or at least different from what the chap at Orange said they all were, but I think the frame number says it all really. Although there is paint over it...

    Orange Frame?

Thank you Carge, mine looks a similar finish, but the paint has gone over the various bosses so is obviously not original. In Common: I have the bottle and crud catcher bosses (although painted over). My cable guides look like yours. I eyelet on the chain stay bridge Headtube looks the same...

    Orange Frame?

Thank you. It does seem a mystery. Odd that it has so many authentic-looking aspects except the serial number. TBH I'm not sure what I will do about it. I'm obviously not entirely happy, the seller (a bike shop) failed to mention that it had been powder coated or even re-sprayed, when it is...

    Orange Frame?

Hi The serial number is K6K02830, Orange have said that is unfamiliar to them. They actually thought it may have been an E4 and said frame numbers from the time would have been something like MT80600434. Aparently they have seen loads of fakes before. I've attached photo's. The weight was...

    Orange Frame?

It weighs about 1850g which does not match the weight of the 98 O2 19" Orange frame. According to https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/orange-catalogue-pricelist-spec-1998.394710/ it should be 1610g. Would powder coating and those painted-over bolts add 240g?

    Orange Frame?

Orange has come back saying the frame number does not come back with anything but they think it's a 1998/99 Orange E4. But a little research says that frame should have an 'S Bend Powerstay Rear', mine looks straight.

    Orange Frame?

Actually now you say it, I would agree, it does look like a powder coat. Not exactly the 'retro' frame I was expecting.

    Orange Frame?

Hi I have just received what was sold as a 'possible Gringo', but what a lot of you thought was an O2. The details certainly matched an O2, the series 14 tubes etc. The serial number is K6K02830. Can't see any mention of an Orange serial number starting with a K, so I've emailed Orange asking...

Orange Super Cross 2 Riser Bars Handlebars

Hi More advice please! From previous advice (thank you guys) I have bought the Orange O2 frame and I'm looking forward to making a light cross country style mountain bike from it. I hope to use as many parts from one of my old bikes as possible, but I'm tempted to try and get an Orange stem and...

    Possible Orange Project?

Very frustrating, the seller of the £131 O2 has not replied to my question regarding frame size and whether they are open to posting and the seller of the £142 Gringo has decided they can't be bothered to post it after all....

    Possible Orange Project?

It would be nice but sadly it is the other end of the country with no option to post. Not sure of size either.

    Possible Orange Project?

I'm conflicted tbh. On one hand, I love the idea of saving/refurbishing/rebuilding something quality from back when I initially got into biking, especially as it might otherwise be thrown away. But I'm also aware I have not messed with bikes in years, lack the tools, knowledge, and probably time...

    Possible Orange Project?

Thank you both. I'll give the E2 a miss then! This seems to be a much newer Gringo and I know nothing about disk brakes, but worth watching? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133797854086?ul_noapp=true

    Possible Orange Project?

Thank you. Seems there are potentially several aluminium Oranges on Ebay at the moment. Although most don't say the size, so I have to enquire. There is also an 'E2 which is the right size for me https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154505183938?hash=item23f93a02c2:g:5QMAAOSw~WBg1KqK. Obviously older...

    Possible Orange Project?

Nice looking bike :) Is it fairly light? I'm not as strong as I once was and lifting my old steel Specialised Rockhopper Comp onto the roof of my Rav 4 is getting tricky at times, as it's a real stretch for me. I think you may be right about the ebay one being an O2. I've been looking at old...
