Another update!
thanks to Mr OX for the loan of the die, the xc400 got the steerer cut and rethreaded. They also had a complete strip down and respray as they were a very tatty black and orange, which didnt work with the black and purple...

Thanks to minifreak for the tyres....they look amazing on this bike! 8)
After many issues with getting hold of and setting up some original LX shifters, the daughter couldnt get used to them, so some super cheap but good and chunky shimano...
I hate to admit it.....but my new tinkering project has meant the retro Orange I'm building for my daughter is currently gathering dust and looking very sorry for itself in my shed.
Unfortunately my project is one of those that you can never really leave alone....it will always demand my time...
I can do a good comparison of early 90's mtb vs modern gravel bike. i had a 91 explosif that was set up for commuting to work (fast road tyres etc) and have since sold it (yes i regret it :facepalm: ) and now have a new Boardman adv8.8 gravel / adventure bike as my commuter.

Clearing out some parts that I'm never going to get round to using, so here is a rare single pair of Campagnolo Icarus / Centaur cantilever brakes, they came with one of my many previous builds, but i have never fitted or used them, everything appears to be there and in pretty good condition...
