What is the benefit of having the cable routing on the lower tube? Would that not get dirty more quickly. I would like my bike to be low maintenance...

I've been looking all voer the internet, but cannot seem to find a history of the Orange P7 anywhere. Even on the Orange website, history stops at 2004. Does anyone of you know if such a history exists or can tell me when the major geometry, headtube, fork etc. changes occurred?
