Thanks.. the bike shop put a new cable and outer on it.. I've just soaked it with WD 40 it does seem a bit better. still not 100% it seems to skip from 5th to 7th when i click the shifter but when going up the gears from 7th to 1st it works perfect. May be try a second hand shifter??

Thanks for the reply. When changing gears the indexing is not right you have to mess around with the lever to get it in the right gear. The bike shop changed the cable for a new one and tried to set it up as best as they could. They reckon its the levers something has worn inside.
