    Weird Saddles

That saddle is why the guy in Edvard Munch's painting is screaming.

    Today's Ride

I can remember working on that Mini, changing it from Hydrolastic suspension to the dry Moulton rubber cones. Got all the bits I needed, rubber cones and alloy trumpets F&R, and a dry rear subframe off a Mini that had been dumped in an old quarry. My first venture into making my cars go round...

    Today's Ride

Always doubted that wee fragment of memory... When I bought my blue Mini, £200?, and my brother bought a Morris 1000 as our first cars our Dad told us "Now you'll start spending money" A truer statement there has never been.

Think mine was maybe 1966 but probably that same shade of blue and with opening rear windows. If memory serves me right the 850cc Minis didn't have them only the 1000cc. MattiThundrrr, if that's your Mini I'm jealous AF. Maybe you can confirm if my memory is correct or has been ravaged by time.

    Feature Films Featuring Bicycles!

A Good Year 2006 with Russel Crowe. In one scene he's driving his poxy wee French hire car and causes, past and future, love interest Marion Cotillard to fall off her bike. He also shouts "Lance Armstrong" at a bunch of French roadies while driving same car.

    New Fangled Hope Disc Brakes…

There might be a wee bit too much fluid in the system not allowing the pistons to retract fully. Had the same problem with Hope brakes, and others too. Happens sometimes when brakes have previously been bled with pads/pistons too close to disc, worn pads can cause it too when new pads take up...

RX100 shifters woes - any advice?

As Jimo said spraying WD40 inside shifter can loosen up the old grease to allow the pawls to move. After getting it to shift OK you will need to re-lube it as WD40 ain't no lubricant, it will tend to wash off the lube that was there and it will be shifting, or attempting to, dry. I used spray...

Gaffer Tape, Baler Twine, your tools that aren't tools?

Dishwasher as a degreaser/cleaner. Was rebuilding a mate's Kona Coiler, stuck all the rear suspension components in to make them sparkle. My wife was NOT in.

    Magura Louise

I found that hose and fittings were compatible between older HS33 rim brakes and a lever from a 2002-ish Clara disc brake. I built up a Cannondale with disc Headshok on a V-brake frame. Fitted a Clara to the Headshok and had a full set of HS33, so used the rear with it's own lever but it didn't...

    Removing cannondale headshok fork nut?

So nowt to do with the hub or Headshok but turns out it's a security skewer which is the first of it's type I've ever seen. As said above , seems to work as intended.

    Removing cannondale headshok fork nut?

Any idea what hub that is? The Headshok too for more info, don't recognize the dropout. Not seen a hub bolt like that, I assume it isn't quick release at other end?;) Seems unusual that a tool other than a normal hex Allen key would be required to unscrew it. Then again Cannondale did like their...

    Cannondale Super V600. What year?

Had a look on Bikepedia but nothing conclusive but might be as early as '97-98. Check out the serial number and head-tube badge info to date it here https://vintagecannondale.com/info/serial_numbers/
