    Wanted Chris King Headset - 1 1/8 - Gold

Yes, it's a Sotto Voce unfortunately It's kind of crazy how such prohibitively expensive items seem unobtainable. I contacted some European distributors of Chris King products in hope they could direct me to a shop, but they said no chance and they expect new shipments in mid/late October...

    Wanted Chris King Headset - 1 1/8 - Gold

Yeah I saw that one already. Bearings look super gunky though and I have no idea if you can actually remove those 'paint splatters' as the seller claims. I'd take this as a very last resort, but my hope is someone in this forum has a clean one flying around. 🙏

SOLVED: Identify Shimano 8-speed shifter [XT-M008]

Can anyone identify this Shimano 8-speed shifter? It came with a bike I've bought, but there's no serial number or any indication on it apart from the logo. The texture of the housing is rubbery all around, except for the logo plate which is piano glossy smooth, if that helps. Thanks a lot! 🙏😊

    cycle to work day

LOL many would say it is, but I think it has more to do with the fact my route is along the riverside with tons of pubs and venues where people get drunk. Then you have the many park benches along the river where people smoke. It may sound exaggerated but it isn't. There's many accidents on that...

    Cyclists who kill

I just imagined the ways in which a cyclist could potentially 'kill' a pedestrian, especially in hindsight of that sensationalist article. Like he has to carefully pick his victim. Best would be an older lady with brittle bones. Then race up to her from behind, do a bunny hop, twist the bike in...

    Finishing tape for drop bars?

I wonder why nobody has suggested this before. (maybe because I'm too ghetto for this forum... LOL) I reuse the original finishing tape and just smear a bit of strong glue on the last inch or so before you give it the final wrap. Has always worked great and looks legit. You won't be able to...

Advice on cold weather cycling with Raynaud's?

I used to commute via bike in the last winter and learned a few things: - What really messes up your hands is not just the cold air, but the combination with moisture! In winter the air is incredibly humid and rain/snow do their part to really freeze the fingers stiff. - Something rather...

Best full length gel cycling gloves

Honestly I wouldn't count on gel gloves (never even heard of it until now) If you need more cushioning, rather place it on the handlebar. Are you riding a road bike? If so, there's plenty of options. Get some gel pads of your preferred thickness and place them between the handlebar and bar tape...

    cycle to work day

Cycling to work turned me into a part-time misanthropist. It's like you have to deal with the worst humanity has to offer. Mostly drunk/high juveniles and fat people on their 10.000€ e-mountainbikes.

    Cyclists who kill

Never heard of anyone being killed by a cyclist (LMAO) but I've seen plenty of collisions ending up in injuries. But honestly in 90% of cases it's the pedestrians fault for being completely devoid of peripheral vision and/or sound. I commute along the riverside for a few kms and you'd be...

What clear coat would you recommend?

Make sure you eliminated all the rust before spraying anything, because it WILL come through if you've not been thorough with it and then all the paint will flake off. I would honestly wait with clear coating until you've achieved a satisfactory finish. If you just coat the untreated surface...
