I went to the USPS website (http://postcalc.usps.gov/) to calculate shipping for a 30"L x 24" H x 10" W box at 12 lbs and it is providing a cost for Priority Mail International (6-10 business days delivery to the UK) of $62.35 USD (or $59.23 if I purchase the postage online), so not crazy...

*Wheels are Sold* White Industries - Mavic 26" Wheels 32H hubs 8/9 speed. Not sure which Mavic rims as stickers are removed. I believe they are 221 or 222 Mavics. They are steel grey as shown here on this Mavic Rim finishes page...
