    Old campagnolo comparing

Re: In spite of what Campagnolo said about this compatibility I have a winter bike with 99 mirage levers and a 10 sp Centaur from 05ish and it works flawlessly on a 9 sp cassette. I also have 1999 Record carbon levers which are working perfectly with a 2003 record 9sp rear mech with the carbon...

    Puzzled about Peugeot.

Re: I'd go for the 653 Athena frame. Correct colour, seat tube diameter, fork crown and year.

Sachs Maillard freewheel on a Campag hub ?

Re: Be slightly cautious. I have a 130 spaced C Record setup. 2 infact. In order to get the camag spaced (ie the brown and not the black spacers. The black are shimano) to work I had to add a 1mm spacer to the axle. The issue was that the chain would go perfectly onto the smallest sprocket but...

Retrobikers trip to Pyranees? Whose game...

Re: Re: If I remember correctly the first part of the Telegraph was a ballbuster as were the first few pitches of Huez. We hit that as our first climb on the hottest day of the year. It was 38.5 and sunny when we got to Huez village. I also recall the pitches through the last ski villages on...

Retrobikers trip to Pyranees? Whose game...

Remember if you are going to buy new stuff for the trip lots and lots of people in the Alps and Pyrenees use triple chainsets with a 30 inner.

Retrobikers trip to Pyranees? Whose game...

Re: Re: I did a tour of the usual suspects in the Alps aged 47 on a 39x29. To be honest lower would have been better but I wasn't all that well prepared and by the end of the week the finale over the Galibier was not too bad, but if you want to hit more than 1 per day I wouldn't recommend it...

    Steerer tube cut?

    Repro parts

I have to say that if I had the full 50th Groupset minus the dustcaps I'd be happy to have the option and they are sold as repro. Also on the subject of pattern parts not carrying the original maker's logo; that's true and not at the same time. If, for argument's sake, I was restoring a...

drilling out a seat pin bolt?

Re: Re: Can we see a pic of the opposite side? Hopefully it has a threaded receiver like the Campag type.

drilling out a seat pin bolt?

Re: On all my frames bar my Pinarello, which has a threaded seat lug, the bolts are the Campag type so if it were cut it would come out in two pieces on either side of the seat cluster. Look before you leap :) :)

drilling out a seat pin bolt?

Re: Looking at that problem, and assuming the plusgas and oversize keys have been tried I'd use a 1mm cutting disk. Even if you loose a tiny bit of the clamp material it won't matter too much IMHO.
