Cheers chaps. The little guys bike and the 'Dale are the two that really get me. Who steals a kiddy's balance bike? And the 'Dale frame was inherited from an uncle who passed away and helped to get me into bikes. I thought that bike was the dog's dangly bits when I was younger.

I have a friend who runs his Sherpa as a plus bike now and much prefers it to the bogo 29er wheels. He's a lot quicker on it too. To be hobest, I was surprised at how fast the bike was; loads of grip but it doesn't feel draggy at all.

My Mountain Kings were far worse for leaking than the Trail Kings that replaced them. Both were the Protection versions too.

Interesting to hear that you've had issues with Schwable and Maxxis beads. I've always had good luck with Schwable tyres in that regard. The biggest issue I found is that the knobs start to tear and the performance drops off a cliff. I've just gone back to Maxxis now they do tubeless ready...

Re: Re: Wow, they're some high pressures. What tyres? I'm 23/26 on my hardtail with no issues. I've only had issues with burping when I went as low as 20.

I'm a full on tubeless convert now. The bike does feel different, it grips better with lower pressures (I run 23 front and 26 rear) and I don't worry about thorns etc. I've torn one tyre which was down to me riding with no sympathy on some very, very rocky trails. Generally they're a piece of...

Re: 2002 Specialized Big Hit DH....AND THE BUILD IS ON!! Had a 2003 version back in the day with Shivers up front and a Push tuned shock. It was a great bike and probably better than the Demo 9 that replaced it. Always had a soft spot for these since. Looks like it'll be a good project when done.

Cheers mate. I thnk it rides pretty well too; I prefer it with the offset bush and slacker head angle / lower BB. The flat crowns make a whole heap of difference to the length of the forks. This era Marzocchis were super long; bloody good forks though. I love them. I thought about a decal but...
