I was pleased to find this late 80s / 90 ish Pearson last week. Stripped down fully, cleaned and rebuilt by my teenage son. It was his first bike build and he loved his first ride on it yesterday. A mix of 105-1055 and RX100.
Doesn't seem to be a lot of info on these on the WWW
I'm going to be changing it very soon from single speed to 2x8 and keep it with straight bars for the foreseeable.
Photos to follow when the build is complete
Cheers

Finished the build. Had to touch in lots of nicks and scratches before polishing. She looks pretty OK from a distance.
Yes the parts are a mixed bag but they all work well and the bike feels quick and is less jarring than I expected.
Interestingly the decal set from H Lloyd contains a 531c sticker. I have contacted them and suggested that this is an error. I does explain why the above frame I have just purchased has the wrong sticker... It's defo a refinish with an H Lloyd sticker set 👍
Yes indeed I now realise that the Oct 82 would have been sold as the 83 range 👍
Some of the decals, including the Reynolds one are stickers but the gold line work etc doesn't look like stickers.
I feel it is refinish, albeit a good one. Hence the incorrect version of the Reynolds sticker...
Haha yes sorry 25" 63cm.
Yes it is 27.2mm seatpost. I measured that when I got it home and fitted a 27.2mm seat post. The 27mm seatpost I also offered up was clearly too slack. The 27.2mm is a perfect fit.
I simply can't find reference to a 531c Clubman from 1982.
My research brings up...
I picked up a 1982 (I think) red Raleigh Clubman frame today.
Looks like original paintwork in great condition... But the Reynolds sticker says 531c.
Frame number WN 200...
Did Raleigh make the Clubman in 531c or have I bought a ringer?
Thanks
Matty
Seems it's a 1991 Quantum in "Gloss Black"
Is a frame like this safe to ride after 33 years? One sees info about 10 year max lifespan etc.
Thanks
Matty
Hi all
I have been given a metallic black Klein road frame which I think is a "Quantum" model from late 80s but I'm not sure.
It's aluminuum with a steel traditional looking "Klein Cro Mo" fork.
There are no lugs front or rear for mudguards.
The serial number is Q49F
Any clues or...
Hi All
I am not sure if this is the correct part of the forum but I hope so.
I am servicing a bike with 2010 Campy Athena Polished Ally Groupo and it turns out that the special long chain-ring bolt (the other 4 are "standard") which goes in from the inside face of the small chain-ring is...
Hi all
I've got hold of a 70s Dawes Galaxy but not sure which year. Serial ends in a 7 which may be 1977?
It has cotter pin crank, post-75 headbadge. The lugs are a little fancy. Centrepull brakes and no brazed on RD hanger.
Opinions please.
Thank you
Matty
Re:
Thanks all.
It's not my drive or fence.
The decals look right to me from photos I've seen. That's how they cane from Serbia via fleabay which was the only set I could find anywhere.
