    Revell Rapide vintage bike

The Revell range were sold in the Freewheel catalogue in the 80's which was largely Madison cycles products. The rapide I recall around 84 / 85 had shimano 600 groupset.

What hi fi system you got ?

Just set up my favourite old hifi up after most of my stuff being in storage for a few years. It didn't cost me too much , I have a Sony CDP-M99 which was the top of the range Sony midi size CD player in the early 90's ( I've actually got two of these and a CDP -M97 as like bikes if I see one of...

    MBK Special pro…thoughts?

I've also found photos of 1985 La Redoute riders Michel Vermotes frame which altough has the 1985 colour scheme seems to be a 1982 build that was repainted but has identical BB Cinelli Shell as mine.

    MBK Special pro…thoughts?

I've been to my storage unit today as I realised I've never checked the frame number ( the thread subject bike ) . On the underside of the BB shell it reads 10685 which surely refers to build date 10th June 1985. It's interesting the '85 TDF started 28th June 1985 so maybe a hastily built frame...

What are your retro bike plans for 2024.

Please help to find value of bike

Hi and happy new year, not being cruel but it's worth about £30 if you're lucky. Its been poorly stored and there isn't anything particularly desirable about it. Put a new chain on it, get it running and it's a beater but don't spend any money on it .

If its the 144BCD for the 107 chainset , they are super rare and sell for hundreds when they come up for sale, one sold on ebay for360 Euro last month , I'd be surprised if anyone with one isn't aware of their rarity but good luck , you never know....

    Cycling Book Recommendations

Really enjoyed ' in search of Robert Millar' by Richard Moore unravelling the mystery of his / her wilderness years . Also ' Field of Fire ' by Jeff Connor which is a follow up but far better and more detailed retelling of the British Escapade in the 87 TDF. Thirdly 'Sprinter' by Malcolm...

    MBK Special pro…thoughts?

I did post the link to this verified team bike on the second page if anyone wants to click into it but the riders name was on drive side top tube .

    MBK Special pro…thoughts?

OK thanks sorry if I upset you , just one more photo that illustrates even the Motobecane / MBK brand identity confusion. Here is Roche again on the 85 TDF on a 85 colour frame with the older Motobecane decals and note the clip on race number and top mounted rear cable guides , maybe an earlier...

    MBK Special pro…thoughts?

Here's also a photo of the late great Paul Sherwen in the 85 TDF . Note the race number is actually attached to the rear brake cable if you zoom in ( it's better on a PC ) also note the Cinelli bottom bracket shell same as my bike ( the original one in the auction thread ) . I don't really...
