lovely old timers those - I rode the factory/museum in Bologna one year and that is a wonderful display of all the models from the past and examples of your bikes are certainly in their collection as they have pretty much one of every bike on display.

I hear that too Shedobits & History Man - I wish you both all the best healthwise too. I found a pic of a coupld old special Ducatis I had previously - gone now also a few years back. The first one was a 1981 early Hailwood replica (a monsterous 900cc V-twin that was kick start only - I broke...

Specialized M2 Team Edition (Metal Matrix Composite) One of the most rewarding refurbs I ever did - some lucky blighter got it of me on ebay - as I had to put it up for sale after finishing it because the pandemic hit and work pay got effected for over a year. Would have been a lovely one to...

fitting a 1" quil stem to a 1,1/4" oversize headset also for quil stems.

That's what I'm thinking - and with a series of cuts around the base extending up as far as the 1" expanding wedge moves to (so that the shim can 'fan-out' and grip as the expanding wedge moves) As Junonada says - beware or corrosion and seized components some a coating of something like...

fitting a 1" quil stem to a 1,1/4" oversize headset also for quil stems.

Thanks for your thoughts, yes, its an interesting conondrum - I guess might be just as easy to chop the 1" quil off and weld a 1,14" quil on - but its all to do with: a) can it be done without ruining the bars, b) will it be safe to ride. I thought someone out there might say "sure, see this...

Wanted Klein Attitude or adroit 1992 Gator, horizon or sunburst

What size is the frame on that, Klein's are quite deceptive on frame sizes - it 'looks' about my size but baring in mind my Attitude above measures at about 19.5" - I think this Adroit could be a good 21-22"? (unless they changed the geometry alot between say 92-94) 👍

fitting a 1" quil stem to a 1,1/4" oversize headset also for quil stems.

Does anyone know of any shim or adapter system that will allow me to fit a 1" set of bullmoose bars with a quil to the 1.25" oversize quil headset on a Fisher I have acquired?

yes it was 1" headtube. I've missed a couple of larger frames that have gone up for sale since, but would like another. Yes I recall there were some earlier VitT 1's with standard rear triangles too, not the unicrown rear stays shared with the P7 design on the T2 There can't be many about but...

Anyone seen a FUCHS MTB before? This was mine (back when I had my MTB loft storage facility in Kent)

A few years ago I restored this FUCHS that picked up from a seller in London. (handbuilt in Germany fairly early on for an alloy bike from the mid'80s at considerable cost when new) I looked into whether its built by the same Fuchs family as the Porsche wheels, but its not, there is no...

My old Kona Joe after powdercoating the ape-hangers black and completing a single-lever conversion to make it as simple as possible. Not with me anymore but rode better than its looks it would.

My King Hahuna with Manitou Skareb fork and XTR groupo, hope hubs, King headset - great bike and not sure why I parted with it really as it as 19" which is my size - but I hankered after a simpler, early bike - which I later got in the 20" above.
