Always used the Sugino or Syncros Ti version of these. Fit them with a spanner bolt/washer initially ( remove the locking bolt/washer ) then fit these and firmly test/tighten by hand with a normal length allen key ( so you cant over torque ) before any ride. Been using 6 sets since the 80s and...

Agree very much with the above 👍 For me i’d like to try very early trailblazing design bikes like Series I & II Breezers and Cunninghams. Tried pretty much the best of the rest over the years. So many iconic retros were mostly marketing hype, same as today.
Ideally after my first choice a black XT 26.4mm but open to other decent black setback posts in my size. Tight clamps please. Cash or trade goodies available. WHY ?

Tried extending Ti threads on a Ti steerer once. Trashed the £££ cutting tool and it didnt do a good clean job ( used lots of lube, backedup threads to clean swarf etc ). And I have done steel hundreds of times before with no issues. Best left to a Prof or just find/buy exactly what you need...
