That Allez was made in Taiwan by Giant. Under the American flag on the seat tube should say design in the U.S. Specialized never have their own factory. Previous Allez were made by Miyata, 3rensho and other one or two other Japanese companies.
That's a 94 Allez. That bike was build with the lowest end Campy gruppo available call Stratos. Many of the components were the same as Veloce but the finish wasn't as good. The shift levers on the Stratos ergo were plastic. It will break with age. There are no spare parts available for...
Yes, LOOK made a steel bike back in 86 but it didn't have the seat stay "LOOK" pantograph. I saw a fake Look steel bike a while back with a LOOK seat stay pantograph. Do you have pictures of the bike in question?
If you think steel is amazing, you should try the early carbon tubes with aluminum lugs frame. Going over every bump is like you are riding on velodrome with full suspension. :wink:
I have a Look 753r frame with a 127mm (6 speed) spacing. Currently, it has a 130mm 8 speed campy hub between the drop outs. I didn't cold set it. I just spread it a little each time I install the rear wheel. No problem so far. YMMV.
PX 10 was the top of the line production model for many years. The PY 10 was a custom/special order model from Peugeot. Most PY10 came with 531sl tubing.
It depends on the derailleur hanger. If it has a Simplex hanger, I would go with the SLJ5500. SuperLJ 5500 is a very good derailleur...
