    Identifying old frame, Hetchins/Claud Butler?

Frame had now returned. I've attached some images of the forks. I've found the stamp Reynolds Butted 11-16 on the steerer tube. There is something else stamped under that, but I cant make it out. It also seems to have Pat Pend stamped on the fork crown. The shot blasting dept very kindly lost...

    Identifying old frame, Hetchins/Claud Butler?

Re: Keith, thank you for the continued information. The frame is away for shot blasting at the moment, as soon as its back I'll take some more photos of the forks. I've been searching through the Classic Leightweights pages and am up to F so far, with nothing really coming close. Most frame...

    Identifying old frame, Hetchins/Claud Butler?

Re: Thanks again people. I've identified the dropouts as Stallard, only going from this page, which shows drawings of them, and you can just make out REGP on them: http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/stallard.html Unfortunately the frame numbers dont match up with a P T Stallard frame. The...

    Identifying old frame, Hetchins/Claud Butler?

Re: Yes they are. Seems pretty odd for a frame of such an old age, but I'm not too clued up on bicycles in general. I'm a mechanic by trade, so can happily take them apart, but my knowledge on makes/models etc is lacking. Test me on a Nissan or Renault and I'll happily help!

    Identifying old frame, Hetchins/Claud Butler?

Re: Hi, Thanks for the replies, certainly something to go on. It had 26" wheels on it, I'll measure the spacing tomorrow. I can squeeze a 700c wheel set on it, but the drop out slots aren't big enough to accept the hubs. I can get the hubs into the front section of the rear dropouts though...

    Identifying old frame, Hetchins/Claud Butler?

Hi, currently trying to identify this frame. I'm just gathering bits to build it up, and it would be nice to try and find a make/model for it. From what I've found it potentially has Ekla lugs, and the rear dropouts are for an Osgear set up. The frame number is stamped on both rear dropouts...

    Help me identify this bike?

Re: Got round to having another go with this. Picked up wheels, and watching some Campag parts on eBay. The bottom bracket has 'British Made' stamped on it, with the initials L.S next to it. The only image I can find of this is on a Flying Scot site, but it's not a Flying Scot. 69 is stamped on...

    paint removal advice needed please.

Re: Look on eBay for detailing clay, used by car detailers. I've used it loads of times when cleaning cars, excellent stuff.

    More info on Wilier Lampre?

Re: Knew it wouldn't be a team bike, certainly not for the price! It rides beautifully, much much better than my previous Bianchi. Its completely silent when on the move, and the Mavic freewheel sounds great. Just need to match up the Centaur, match the seat post to the bars/stem and it's perfect.

    More info on Wilier Lampre?

Hi all, Did post this in post 1998 bikes, but seems to be full of MTB! Admin, please delete. Am new to Retro Bike. I've just bought my second road bike - advertised as a 2008 Wilier Lampre. It's alu framed, with carbon rear stays and forks. It has Campagnolo Centaur fitted, although someone has...

More information on my Wilier Lampre?

Hi all, Am new to Retro Bike. I've just bought my second road bike - advertised as a 2008 Wilier Lampre. It's alu framed, with carbon rear stays and forks. It has Campagnolo Centaur fitted, although someone has fitted later Mirage calipers and front mech. I'm just looking for a bit more...
