I would say it is one of the hardest. There is so much that can go wrong.

Only tend to get the ridge of paint if you apply lots of paint and/or use a thicker masking film. You don't need much black to get coverage and this shading is done with an airbrush which produces a really fine spray. You would get a thicker ridge if you were applying white paint over black.
