    Re: You can tell by the number of click-stops on the right-hand shifter (should have a little D-ring that you can turn from "Friction" to "Index"). But if they came from an 8-speed bike that's the other way to tell....!! I'm looking for 7-speed unfortunately. Thanks Richard.

    My guess is entry-level Columbus steel. It's welded / fillet-brazed so probably not 80s, but it has horizontal dropouts and a 1" threaded headset so not that modern either - I guess early/mid-90s?? It has mudguard eyes so not a "racing" frame, so unlikely to be top-spec tubes? Something...
