    heat will remove that seat post. heat it up, not too hot, above 100c about 150c then cool it with a hose pipe rapidly. If you heat it too much and cool it too quickly you will end up case hardening the frame and you dont want that. Its all about expansion and contraction and breaking the joint...

    LOL. Chemical metal is useless for any strength application. Get it welded. Chemical metal is best suited to sealing holes/leaks in motor bike engine cases where ther is no strength required. Basically imo chemical metal is sh$%e no matter what the application. Its a bodgit to ebay jobbie

    Seatpost size for a 1988 Stumpjumper

    I've just measured mine. It measures 26.5- 26.6 Measurements were taken under the seat where it has never been in the frame. Possible 26.7 but no more. It seems to vary a bit but 0.2 is nothing.
