Re:
As it looks like it's had a Respray at some point are the forks original? I wouldn't be surprised if it's forks and bars are from a different bike, then frame separate with a more modern drive train stuck on built up as a commuter/pub bike. Do you recognise the frame number at all? I might...
This is a bike for sale currently which the seller thinks is a specialized. I'm not convinced but if anyone has any thoughts I'd be interested. I've got as far as touring frame possibly 80s but if so then the chain set isn't original. Also anyone recognise the number on the bottom bracket?
Re:
So quick update, the original saddle that came with the bike was not comfy for me at all and so required a change. I had nicked a saddle from a mtb that wasn't doing anything for a while which worked but I managed to pick this up today
Re:
Inner and outer cable replacement first and new pads first I'd reckon. If your wheels are chromed you'll never get decent braking (or should that be I have noticed a significant decrease in braking on a chrome rim over any other surface). Then after you've changed those maybe it is the brakes
Re:
To me it looks like you need to buy a stem, some bars, tape and a couple of tyres, build it up in to a bike and enjoy. If you have fun riding then it's worth it.
