Wanted Wanted: 1.45"/1 7/16in/Chater-Lea bottom bracket

Update on this - tentative, but may have found a set of the right cups - I've been looking at old tandem eccentric bottom brackets as this cup size turns up on them, and believe I've found one cheap enough to make the gamble. It doesn't come with a spindle or ball bearings but I think they'll be...

Wanted Wanted: 1.45"/1 7/16in/Chater-Lea bottom bracket

I don't think so - saw that on ebay but it's advertised as 1.37 inch. I cant find a period catalogue to check the part numbers, but another one sold in August also advertised as 1.37 inch and with the same 616/617 numbers

Wanted Wanted: 1.45"/1 7/16in/Chater-Lea bottom bracket

I think it's just an occam's razor situation where they're so rare that anyone selling one will probably know exactly what it is and advertise it accordingly. They do turn up though.

Wanted Wanted: 1.45"/1 7/16in/Chater-Lea bottom bracket

Collecting the bits and pieces to put an old carlton frame back on the road, the main outstanding challenge is to find a bottom bracket. It's the obsolete Chater-Lea size, so english threaded but 1.45 inch thread diameter. I'll be keeping an eye out for one online and am emailing some of the...

    reasonable Carlton 531 (circa 1980?)

Looks like a professional. Severely tempted as I've had one of those on my list for a while and it doesnt look in too bad shape

    Sold Carlton (formerly) Cobra Bristol

Sold: £85 on ebay This was a rescue project, assumption is this was a Cobra originally as it's a chromed Tru-wel frame with the usual crespera lugs and wrapover stays. 22.5" size frame, had been stripped of paint and converted to flat bar when I got it. I've cleaned it up and put on various...

For Sale Temple Cycles step-through frame

It's post-1998 but is a retro/classic style designed steel frame so I'm posting it here: Temple Cycles classic lightweight step through frame, size large (55cm seat tube, 56cm 'top tube') - geometry can be seen on their website here...

    RH Stick shift front derailleur.

That'd never work. I think a daisy chain of telescopic back scratchers to connect to it has more potential

    Wanted 531 Mixte Bike Wanted.

Yes I somehow missed that when replying and thought it was just a frame wanted. Seat tube c to t is 55, other dimensions here under the geometry section: https://templecycles.com/products/step-through-lightweight

    Wanted 531 Mixte Bike Wanted.

If bristol is in range, it's not retro or 531 but somewhat classic: I've got a temple cycles 'classic lightweight step through' frame. It's large size (55cm) 520 steel, sealed headset. Currently built into a bike that has been something of a failure (not through the frame's fault) so I can...

3 Large Bags of Vintage & Classic Bike Parts

Ideally one day you'll be able to feed this image into an AI tool and it'll give you an itemised list of all the components in frame. Problem is AI only works on being fed what information is available, which is generally limited to what information is mainstream, which a misc bag of bits isn't.

    Old Carlton: Dropout/Wheel Size confusion.

What's the width of the dropouts? Iirc it should be 126mm, so if it's wider than that then it's definitely been re-sized or has bent in some way, though that wheel/hub looks original. Here's a photo of how it looks on my corsair which is a similar bike
