    I've just realized I made a mistake in the post title - it is in fact a Diamond Back Racing Vertex not Ascent. I'm going to start another thread with the details correct and some pictures.

    Re: I can post someone pictures tomorrow. I had a few years away from mountain biking and when I started again 18 months ago, I bought a new bike. I had intended to use the Diamondback as a 'shopping' bike - but I hardly used it.

    Re: I replaced the shifters with Shimano Gripshifts, so they look the same as the original. The whole bike looks as it did when I bought it - except the saddle - which is now a padded wide saddle.
