looking to have 1910 sunbeam bicycle gearing rebuilt

Hello, I have not posted on here in.... about 10 years! Oh how time flies. It would fly all the faster if I could get my 1910 Royal sunbeam back together... Basically I took the chainring out because I wanted to see the planetary gear that resides within the chainring, it has to be seen to be...

    Polished quill stem & handlebars

Re: If you know anyone who has this sort of equipment you can do it yourself, I once polished a pair of alloy handlebars and an alloy cinelli quill stem on one of these: That is a big example of this sort of machine but you can get smaller bench versions. I remember I had to put this...

How much do you love your bike?

Re: HAHAHA!!! A man has sex with a bike. This is the world we live in apparently :P Seriously though, as bizarre an act as it is, I am not sure the law really has the right to interfere with such a matter, he is basically just having a wank, he didn't hurt anyone ..

What sort of rubber is used in bicycle brake pads?

Ah, yes. That is quite correct. In fact one of the rear pads is indeed leather, I wasnt sure how to go about such a thing so thourght rubber might be the way. Though if anyone has any leather suggestions I am open to that. Interesting idea

vintage cycle motors, a good idea?

I am quite interested in talking to your friend, electric motors seem like a cool option as well. I found this website http://www.dvice.com/2013-7-23/removabl ... -instantly that shows a device soon-to-be available that would be right up my street I think. It seems identical in idea to the...

vintage cycle motors, a good idea?

I didnt mean any offence with the remark, I was kind of interested to see how many women there were on the forum compared to men actually :P well then, if I saw a good deal on a cycle motor or one at a car boot then I would probably go for it as a fun thing though from what was said here its...

vintage cycle motors, a good idea?

Thanks for that, sounds pretty unreliable. I have a track bike too, pretty good but would have to put some fatter tyres on it to get allong that bumpetty canal path each day, which might be weird on a track bike. Hmm

vintage cycle motors, a good idea?

Hey guys and gals! (oh who are we kidding, just guys) ;) I have been thinking about attaching a vintage cycle motor to my vintage bicycle, I am 23 and use my 50s humber sports to get everywhere, I have done a fair amount of tinkering and improving on it, replacing the dynohub bulbs with leds...

    trying to find high quality26 x 1 3/8 tyres

hmm, interesting graph! I weigh 61kg and my bike 17, according to that graph around 80psi roughly should do the trick if I read it correctly? There were some available that go to 85. But at £30 per tyre its bloody expensive for a roadster tyre! ah well, those ones are apparently very puncture...
