    1986 Ritchey Aspen

A friend of mine just picked up this 1986 Ritchey Aspen and was wondering if anyone could help ID the one piece stem/bar combo? The stem is alum not steel and is not the original bullmoose style, obviously. Looks like the previous owner swapped it out along with the shifters (for XT thumbies)...

    Rocky Mountain font

Does anyone know what font RM used back in the late 80's? Or was it custom designed? I have a new to me '88 Avalanche and am cutting new decals for top and down tubes. Thanks in advance

    Scott frame ID help

Re: Yeah, I figured it wasnt a Boulder - Montana maybe - if its a Scott at all.. the paint underneath really has me wondering. Seatpost is 26.6 and here is a closer look at the junction and cable guides - Scott cable guides were more ball shaped I think..?

    Scott frame ID help

Re: Leaning towards it being a Montana from 1989 by looking at the seat tube junction and rear drop-outs (not the same as a Boulder) but the paint under that spray bomb silver is throwing me off. I can't find an image of a Scott with paint like that - it does look like factory paint, with a...

    Scott frame ID help

Hey, I just picked up this - advertised as a Scott, no other info, obviously badly resprayed but has the original Scott handle bar. I picked it up only for the 1" Salsa roller stem and M900/mavic231 front wheel but I'm now wondering as to year and model of the frame. Late 80's with U-brake on...

    splatter paint brodie years

Anyone able to narrow down which year range the Brodie line-up featured splatter paint jobs? Was it just one or two years or could you get them pretty much anytime from The Art Dept?

    issues out riding earlier

I recently had an issue were the LBS over tightened the axle cones, just slightly. Everything was good out of the bike but when the wheel was in the frame the added squeeze from the QR locked things up.

ID help needed, early West Coast Cdn content

here are a couple shots of mine, including the serial. I know what this was sold as prior to the respray, it and another smaller framed version I grabbed from Shamobius in the fall. I will force my kids to go outside this summer and they will be riding retro.
