No Konas in the MOMBAT collection?

I didn't know so many American forum members could read Jeff from Mombat's mind.

Is this a Specialized Stumpjumper, or not?

Someone should correct the 25 Years book and the ad for the 1992 Team bike, as they both mention the Stumpjumper M2.

    1997 Kona Hot Seattle USA

Wish it was 20", but then again, if it was 20", the OP would have bought it before I could. :)

Is this a Specialized Stumpjumper, or not?

This is not entirely correct. The 1991 Stumpjumper M2 and Stumpjumper M2 Team were branded as Stumpjumpers. I perceive this bike as a Stumpjumper, but perhaps that's just me.

Anyone have any good pics of a 1991 Stumpjumper M2 Team?

I lucked into a bare 1991 Duralcan Specialized Stumpjumper M2 frame and am debating whether to restore it to "team" spec or "standard" spec. However, the only pic I can find of the silver "Team" bike is a blurry catalog scan. Anyone have a pic of the silver 1991 M2? Thanks!

    Best way to remove decals?

Windex (or whatever the UK equivalent is) 1. Soak a paper towel in Windex. 2. Wrap towel over decal. 3. Cover in plastic wrap. 4. 4-24 hours later (some decals are more stubborn than others), the decal will wipe right off with zero harm to the paint. I've done this several times.

Univega Alpina Uno - tip rescue

The early Alpinas all used the same frame, and only differed by group. The Uno was the lower end of the range but had a really nice frame and decent quality group. If the bike has Ukai Speedline rims (some early Alpinas did), be sure not to toss them, as they are worth a lot of money.

    20" Kona Hot Frame

    Looks pretty nifty so far.

Early fillet brazed Corratec (with straight tubes!)

Current plan is "murdered out" lightweight singlespeed. I'm guessing '89 - '90. The shop it came from said it was one of Corratec's first bikes, and as far as I'm aware, Corratec was born in 1990.

    20" Kona Hot Frame

Interesting. None of the 3 Teesdale Hots I own had clear over the decals.

    20" Kona Hot Frame

wow Wow, there was a 20" Hot in my town and I missed it? I looked for a 20" Hot for 2 years with no luck and now they are coming out of the woodwork around here. For what it's worth, many Hots seem to be decal-less. I think the Portland dealer asked the buyer if they wanted decals or not...

Early fillet brazed Corratec (with straight tubes!)

This frame is almost NOS (built up but never ridden) and has some interesting details. Supposedly was one of Corratec's first bikes and was handmade in Italy (likely by Sannino?). Original price was in the realm of $2000. Frame and fork weigh 5.4 pounds. If anyone has any history on early...

VINTAGE JOE BREEZE MTN BIKE FRAME/FORK - $100

I looked at it. It's a 19" Storm with Logic tubing. It's cosmetically pretty rough, but I guess it's cool if you are looking for a bike with a lot of patina. I passed since the factors didn't add up for me: -Too rough -Not a Lightning -Not my size or my wife's; instead its right between...

1981 Specialized Stumpjumper!! San Francisco Bay Area

They have the frame and fork tubing decals. The 1981 decals are different from the other old Stumpjumpers and will probably have to be custom. I will probably just do them in Illustrator and have a few sets made.
