I built the old 1/24th Airfix Focke Wulf 190 Night Fighter and put it on Facebook,
the model has the swastika on it's tail, I got a two week ban from them because
I being a terrorist and goes against their shitty community standards, Facebook
also deleted all the pictures of the model I...
Thank-You.
Didn't Roy Cross do much of the artwork for Airfix ? I loved the scenes on the boxes, years ago after finishing such kits I used to cut out the painting then pin it up on my bedroom wall, still do it these days if I really like it.
The Battleship looks great, 1/350th ? The Swastika is a touchy subject everywhere!
Folk should get a back-bone and stop trying to blot out history, good or bad.
I made the Revell 1/350th Tirpitz which went into a Barnes Wallis Museum.
She is a corker and it's great to read the replies, models & paints ain't so cheap these days, kits in the 80's anything from 50p to £15 max - Humbrol model paints in the 80's was 15p a tinlet.....tables are turned in today's times...kits from £6 to a whopping £800, Humbrol paints on average are...
Do you know there's to be a full scale steel model of VN-N which when finished will be
proudly sat on a large steel tripod, memorial is to be just a stones throw away from RAF Swinderby ?
The old guy to the left of me was a 49 sqd RAF Veteran called Fred Hall, he's since passed away now, the stories he told me about flying Manchesters was unbelievable, he said you hear the horrible stories about the Manchester, most where true but limited only to a few Manchester kites, he said a...
You'd struggle to make it into a Manchester from this kit because of the 'canning' on the wings, chopping up & shorting the wings & making new nacelles will throw problems straight at you, you'd have to try a replicate the 'canning' on the scratch made parts, there's another big 1/32nd Lanc' kit...
Not wrong and this kit pushed me to the limit, the parts fractured and then snapped in pieces, so every part I removed off the sprue I had to repair/recement back up.....Ballache.
Thanks! I've been making Lancasters for 35 odd years now, so got the touch in making them look right, the average life of a Lancaster was a week, so weathering one with a mass of chipping & filth everywhere and looking like a Tank is wrong, unless it was a kite that had flown plenty of sorties.
