    2003 Rocky Mountain ETSX-70

I've had two bikes with Juicy 5's now, and I've been perfectly happy with their performance - even when DH'ing on a Specialized Demo. But I realize that the Ultimates are available in cooler colors and there's the pad contact adjustment. Anyways, Jenson USA has Juicy 5's on for $85/wheel with...

    2003 Rocky Mountain ETSX-70

Good call on putting on a Fox RP3! I bet it improves the pedalling a bit. I've never tried an ETS-X. Anyways, good practical build for South Ontario. No need for DH casing tires, an oversized stem or 6" travel forks. Deore hydro brakes are good too. 27.5 lbs is good, lighter than my...

    Kona Cinder Cone

We need pics!!! I have to say, I'm glad I kept the bike I bought at 16. Even though it's not my 'main' bike anymore, I feel totally at home on it. It's worth more to me as a loaner/backup bike, to use on the trainer, and just for sentimentality than the $400 I could get for it.

Radio 1's newsbeat after the Nitrus/ modding car brigade

I also had a faster than average sport compact back in the day: http://www.gonzonx.com/articles/rtrt1.html. It ate Civics for lunch, and ran about even with VR6 GTI's. Came close against a Mustang LX 5.0 and a Volvo S80 T6.

    How you guys do it??

Most of my bikes preceded my girlfriend, who doesn't live with me anyways. I was a single free man when I was up to five bikes! Being down to three, that's almost justifiable... I have a house with a half-unfinished basement, so that's where they stay - along with my repair stand and tools...

True car fans don't want other people to know how fast their cars are!

Radio 1's newsbeat after the Nitrus/ modding car brigade

I'm sorry guys. Nothing like a new car race movie to make teenagers behave like retards. I remember how into-it everyone got with the first movie. In practice, it'd be very hard to enforce ECU tuning rules. However, that doesn't stop the harassment if you have a tuned car with a...

    shimano/suntour compatibilty

Glad you guys are around! I was about to put 7-speed Shimano shifters on my friend's bike with a Suntour 7-speed group. The bike has Suntour '7s' under-the-bar shifters. They're strange and starting to lose their index ratchet powers. (I guess Gen 1 Rapidfire sucked too!) Oh well, it's...

Kona Lava Dome in the 'Skip'!

That's right; the Indy C on my friend's bike still had the Canti stopper, which looked weird after he upgraded to V's.

Kona Lava Dome in the 'Skip'!

1997 Kona Lava Dome - that was two of my friends' first bikes! Takes me back. (There were lots of Konas around when I grew up in western Canada...) It would be a crime to paint over that colour - the colour and graphics are so nice on that frame/year. Nice riding frames too, them old steel...

    Klein?

Or an A1 Stumpjumper! Anyways, looking at that frame, the cable guides, down tube gusset and seatstays look an awful lot like my '99 M2. My M2 has the 'S' stamped in the gusset I believe; that would be a sure-fire sign.

    "What we need is..."

You can also wash your kitchen and living room's floors with a toothbrush! It's just not the right tool for the job. (There is a hardtail in the background of picture one :))

    "What we need is..."

Oh absolutely, and same here. I'm not God's gift to DH'ing by any stretch, although the transition is pretty quick if you're a decent technical rider. The second trail wouldn't be impossible on a hardtail, although it's steeper than it looks. You certainly couldn't go that fast. (The...
