    Opinions, to preserve or rebuild...

Okay, here's that longer description I promised. This is purely just storytelling on my part :) So the green Voodoo Dambala pictured below is my Guerilla Soldier (And BTW, I'd love help figuring out the year of manufacture on it if anyone knows voodoo frames). I work at a University, where bike...

That may be the case, but a) I dont even know if thats what brand it is, b) I have it, and c) I only paid $35 for the donor bike. To me at least those seem like good reasons to use it :) Aside from handlebars and a few small items its going to be a free build if all goes well.

Itll probably take a while to put together (sigh). I serve too many masters these days.

Wish I knew. I got it second hand and its unmarked, but i found one on ebay that looks like it called a Sibex....

    Opinions, to preserve or rebuild...

I have some old race face carbon cranks, vintage xtr seatpost, brakes, ti brake posts, and a ti fork that i previously had no interest in using (i like suspension) but couldnt part with. Add the tiagra 10 speed drivetrain and ritchey wheelset off another bike that I think im gonna convert to...

    Opinions, to preserve or rebuild...

Theres a longer story and some pics to go with this (pics monday probably), but Im looking for opinions on wether to preserve/restore a relatively nice trek 9700 OCLV mtb which will either get sold or turned into a garage queen, or strip the original components and convert it to a flyweight...

    New old stock? No way!

So I work at a university and our surplus department is just downstairs from me. Never know what you're going to find there. Today it was an (apparently) original and pretty much new Fuji S10 S. The thing hanging from the top tube is the original manual in a very yellow plastic sleeve. It has a...

    Profile Al cranks?

Nice. I had a mongoose AMP bike way back in the day. That's a cool build.

    Wanted Profile alloy crank(s)

I'm looking for (either) a non drive side 175 mm profile alloy crank (or) a full set and n 170- 180 length to reequip a vintage xc race bike that I'm doing a gentle resto on. No rings/bb needed. Alternately, I'd take a pair of the vintage gt cranks made by profile. Both can be viewed in this...

    Profile Al cranks?

Thanks for that... Now I just need to find a set, or at least a LH side crank for sale!

Race/team bikes vs. off the shelf

Thanks guys. Dirty Sundays, it sounds like you might have some old race records around.... If you have anything on the 95 NORBA season I'd love to chat offline. I've talked to the builder and he shared one or two photos and the build sheet for the bike. I haven't had time to do much on the...

Looking for Englund air cartridge experts!

Thanks. I found them a month or so ago, but didn't bookmark the site. Still haven't tried pulling the fork down (lack of time and a couple of other bike projects, including rebuilding my wife's old fox fork)... finding a substitute for that proprietary ta cartridge socket might be a challenge...

Looking for Englund air cartridge experts!

Thanks for the offer. I'd venture to guess that we're not even on the same landmass. I'm in the western U.S.

Looking for Englund air cartridge experts!

Yeah, that is very useful! Not quite what I was expecting, but did answer all my questions and then some! Thank you.

Looking for Englund air cartridge experts!

Sorry, my bad. Englund is correct. I have a terrible memory for names! Anyway I know there were a few early air forks that used them as OEM (my old Judy among them). I'm just trying to get a bit of knowledge on the internals and how delicate, finicky, or robust they might be before I go tearing...
