For sale is my Campag Nuovo Record rear mech (patent 76).
It is in good condition with some superficial markings all around the mech.
I have stripped down the mech completely and cleaned, regreased and lubed where required, HOWEVER, as you can see in the 4th...
Hi all,
I have just finished restoring a bike and the final piece to fit was the rear mech. It's a Campagnolo Nuovo Record so is fairly old.
However, the pivot points on the parallelogram are incredibly stiff and it's a struggle to even move it by hand.
I have dismantled as much as I could...
Hi there,
I recently bought an older frame and found that the seat tube hole (where the seat post is supposed to slide into) is not exactly circular. It has become flatted at the sides where the seat stays are attached.
It is 1980's condor frame with lugged tubes. The seller says the seat post...
Hard to say with certainty, but yes I think it might.
Looking closely the first word almost certainly says Giro but there seems to be more written afterwards that D'Italia
Can anyone help me identify the type of Bianchi this was?
There are two inscriptions in gold on the top tube but the picture is too grainy for me to make them out. Does anybody know what they might say and what frame this was?
I think the groupset is Record (unsure whether Super/Nuovo) and was...
You’re missing the point. The fact that it is a 4 digit system is not unique to Mercian. I am not saying it’s a Cinelli but they also used 4 digits. So do a lot of other bike companies.
Re: Re:
Cinelli Super Corsa's used 4 digit frame numbering before 1981 so could be one of them too? Also wouldn't the example you gave have the number 01381 in order to fit with Mercians 5 digit system?
Re: Re:
It could be but I think 4 digit numbers were common in the 70's and early 80's. I also found this on Mercian frames:
"For instance 26876 would be the 268th frame built in 1976"

Which doesn't really fit with 4 digit system.
