Not yet! Still on my to-do list. Upon closer inspection, I found what looks like some tiny cracks on the seat tube slot. They are small, so I might be able to simply drill a larger hole at the end of the slot. I'll post an update when I get to it.

I forgot to post an update! I ended up buying a 1/2" aluminum rod and cut it to match the length of the old one. I filed both ends and drilled holes with the same spacing.

After a few months of part searching, restoration and building, my 1992 Rocky Mountain Vertex is finally finished!

I was under the impression that the cracked piece was bonded to the main seatpost part, but I was able to remove it. As @ishaw said, I'll find a 1/2" aluminum rod and make a new part, it shouldn't be too hard!
