Personally I would try and resurrect those Pace forks. A few places have replacement elastomers and they are easy enough forks to service yourself. Edit - Mind you has someone taken the brace off from the rear of the fork ?. If so do you have it ?.

As Repacker said. Also the seat collar is wrong for an 89/90 Rockhopper. Dont recall Halfords selling Rockhoppers but they did Hardrocks.
