Thanks for an interesting thread. Last year, I was searching for exactly the same kind of frameset. New options were scarce, so decided to wait for something secondhand - such as a heavier built steel hybrid, or, touring frame with 135mm OLD.
Locally, a tired & neglected 21-year-old Koga Miyata...
Running Velo Orange aluminium mudguards on my road bike. They take a bit of setting up but have been great. Recommended.

Thanks for this Koga thread - an interesting read. Nice bike in beautiful condition.
Recently found a later Terraliner (2001?): 57cm with a parallel 71 degree frame in O/S cromo. It wasn't in good condition & had been in a rainy environment. It's a versatile bike, but heavy. It'll need more...
Re:
Thanks for an interesting thread. That's a beautiful frame.
Here are Velo Orange aluminium mudguards on a similar 531 (not Mercian) frame. Highly recommended.
Dank u wel Dutchie, much appreciated. Do you have a photo of the Locomotief frame please?
Do any other Retrobikers have experience or photos of these braze ons?
Thanks!
