Thanks to everyone for your contributions. So I thought I’d bought a Raleigh and it turns out I might be the first British man to put his grubby hands on this bike after all!

Brakes are 52 mm yes!

I’ve had a look at both the drop outs and fork ends. Both are shimano!

Shell width is 68 mm

Seat post diameter is 27.2 mm. I’m very intrigued by this frame. I’m from Stockport originally and always loved Raleigh bikes as a youngster. Moved to Helsinki several years ago. I bought the bike recently from a man who bought it in the Netherlands before moving back to Finland. Whatever it is...

Hello all, Hope you can help me! I’ve recently bought this bike. It’s a 531c frame but I can’t find a serial number on it other than BCM. Any ideas on the year it was made? Doesn’t have lugs for down tube shifters which seems unusual to me but perhaps isn’t… best, Thomas
