As a youth I worked in a bike shop that sold Cannondales that I could never afford, I think I must be putting closure on issues by now owning one of around that era.

Found the serial no, its a SM800 with sloped top tube, 1990, with a nice mix of XT and DX bits, although the cat says LX and DX so must have been upgraded at some point. Seems that the SM700 is pretty much the same without the sloping top tube and u-brake. Phew!

Is it acceptable to use modern rims on a retro mtb, if so what would be most suitable - XC717? Also I dont suppose anyone has a Mavic 117 SUP CD for sale, rim or complete wheel. Thanks
