    BSA Opperman Special ID help

Hello, I bought this as a bare frame set. I already had the seat post, hub and stem. I was told by the original owner's son that it is an Oppy. Can anyone confirm this and help me establish a year for it. I would like to build it up as a 3 speed. I think I have a complete Cyclo derailleur and...

Pre-WW2 BSA, something of a diamond in the rough I believe

Hello, I have been following this thread and the progress on your bike. Thanks for sharing it with us. I have a frameset that has been repainted and I was told it is an Opperman by the original owner's son.

    Man on Wire: 1995 Slingshot

Yes, the Bullseye hubs are among my favorites, but for your bike, I would look for something with an 8 speed cassette. #1 on my list would be Nuke Proof, there was a close relationship between Nuke Proof and Sling Shot, I think my second choice would be Ringle. I was a Sling Shot dealer from 87...

I was wondering who's bike it was. Steve was a really nice guy. Did you get any of his other bikes? Like the Cunningham?

    The Rumpfy Collection. Current Muses

My favorite aside from the sling shots is the Breeze. I remember seeing one like that in the Kelly Fisher Mountainbikes shop in San Anselmo in the early 80s. I remember it had a buffalo nickel plug in the stem. Interesting that it has Team Tam stickers...

Saddles - what else is there apart from Flites/Selle Italia that are cool/retro/

I'm surprised that a lot of people are suggesting saddles, yet not one person has asked roughly what year do you want a saddle for. Without this knowledge, the only valid suggestion has been Brooks, which are somewhat timeless. Doesn't the date range of bicycles that we discuss here cover about...

Wanted WANTED: Ritchey bullmoose bar 1" quil

When the bullmoose bars went out of style in the late 80s. Gary Fisher gave me their remaining inventory of tig welded bullmoose bars that were made for them by Nitto. I still have some. I do not have the hardware, just the bars in a few different colors.

    Suntour XC Pro pedals

The Sun Tour pedals were my favorites from their inception. The main reason is the cartridge bearings. Heavier more abusive riders would break their axles. I think that I might have broken one. One company made replacement axles for them in Ti. If I remember correctly, it was McMahon.
