headset is indeed 1 1/8 threaded. managed to get one for a few quid second hand. still not sorted out an answer for the seatpost query tho. will get it soon enough. Going to build it into a polo bike in the short term and maybe respray it further down the line.

Trying to find out the seatpost diameter is proving difficult. Without having anything too accurate to measure I would of said it was 27mm but other sites are saying similar age of bikes may be 26.8 or there about. Can...
bought these the other day but they are the wrong pads for my brakes. one set is still in the packet the other is not. 52mm replacement pads for campag brakes. £8 posted should be £12 new.
