I don't know. The bike is boxed up and in store along with others. No space!

Yes, I agree. It's the purity that I think is lovely. I'll never ride this bike ( all my Colnagos are artwork now), and the few track bikes I have ridden basically scared me stiff. I've just acquired some postcards showing track riders/bikes/velodromes C1904. Those guys were heroes I think...

Jack Taylor Super Clubman Barn Find - * small update page 14

Re: Jack Taylor Super Clubman Barn Find - * small update page 10 Isn't this exactly what a JT was built for. Lovely photographs, what's your camera? JT himself rated Leicas ( who doesn't) but you can get a decent bike for the price of one of those. Another JT (or two) or a Leica - tricky.

    COLNAGO "NUOVO MEXICO" 1986

Sounds like my International - see post elsewhere. It was an awful ride. Didn't have the crimping though. I did a lot of miles on my Mexico and found it very responsive ( like a Super really) as is the Nuovo Mexico, and my MXL - Master series - was pretty much faultless - took it up ( and...

    Easy riders.

One hand, no hands, no teeth?? Couple of pics. Calcutta Cup. Herne Hill. June 2018. There was a lot of skill on that field and that referee was very fit.

    COLNAGO "NUOVO MEXICO" 1986

I agree with all of that. I have at least discovered why my "International" was such a pig to ride. There were apparently 2 versions ( of course) and mine was the later one - built with CRO-MO tubing. It's incredible just how bad it was.

I attach some links that seem particularly useful - and which thoroughly add to the confusion.

    Couple of oldies.

Just out of interest, a composite pic of 1) my Bodelet, 2) a period pic of Garin and 3) a pic of his (replica) bike. And for good measure, the man himself 1901, Paris-Brest.

If anyone is finding their rides a bit boring at the moment, how about trying this?

Thought I'd add a couple of photos - pour l'ambience.

Re: When I purchased it I was "informed" that it was from 1943. I never really believed that, after all there was the slight issue of a war etc. I think late 30's is a good estimate. Nice to Evian is at least 500kms and would have been a significant ride on this bicycle, war or not. After...
